Empowering Baltimore’s Next Generation

The Poetry Party partners with Baltimore City schools, community organizations, summer programs, and youth-serving agencies to deliver engaging, culturally responsive arts education.

Through poetry, spoken word, and the five elements of hip-hop, young people strengthen their literacy, communication, confidence, creativity, and social-emotional skills. Our teaching artists create spaces where students can explore who they are, tell their stories, develop original work, and see themselves as artists, leaders, and changemakers.

Programs can include:

  • Poetry and spoken-word instruction

  • Hip-hop history and the five elements of hip-hop

  • Rap and creative-writing workshops

  • Student open mics, cyphers, and showcases
